Blogging gets easier as you blog

Half the problem is choosing the right template.  Hours and hours have been invested in choosing just the right this or that or starting over entirely.  Through it all, I have learned how to put the building blocks together and now I am fairly confident the blocks will not all come crashing down onto my keyboard.

Now it is just a matter of actually sitting down and writing a few words, translating a few experiences into a few words, capturing a bit of life and sharing the moment.  Sharing the moment with future Steve, and maybe with you if you have discovered me.

I am hoping that this template serves me well and that the efforts blend into the background and writing takes the lead.

My fourth grade teacher would be a bit surprised at this little project.  Miss Fitkin brought the world to our classroom when she showed us slides of her travels to Norway and Egypt and Hawaii.  These were places I could only dream of seeing.  Sadly, Miss Firkin passed away March 22, 2013 and I didn’t even know.  And, she didn’t know that she had inspired at least one of her students to see the world.  This blog, on this day, is dedicated to Miss Firkin.
